This is a vertical representation of The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train cart in an old Georgian house in Dublin. Heavily influenced by the “look & feel” of The Grand Budapest Hotel movie.
CONCEPT BOARD
Zubrowka stands for a name of a republic in Eastern Europe, where The Grand Budapest story has unfold.
Interiors, as well as the room layouts, are influenced by The Oriental Express novel by Agatha Christie. The existing building is a protected structure built in late 18th century. So this project is about preservation. Since the spaces are quite narrow and tall, the whole structure reminded of a train compartment car. And so, the interiors resemble a luxurious environment of a trans-european train. Hence small spaces, smart design, as well as Art Deco accessories choices.
TARGET AUDIENCE
HOTEL GUESTS
Special attention went to the graphics spotted on the third floor of the existing building. This “city creatures” became characters of the Zubrowka hotel guests. The original author is unknown, but i guessed that they would not mind giving the creatures another life.
