Design concept: Alice in Wonderland. The interiors represent the down the rabbit hole part...where Alice needs to eat to grow larger and drink to grow smaller. Hence the names for the coffee shop and a restaurant: Drink Me and Eat Me respectively. When entering the space, visitors are greeted by gigantic legs of Alice. The doll is disproportionately tall and her head pushes against the ceiling.
This is a suggested re-development of the Ashtown house at Phoenix Park, Dublin. Most of the visitors will be families on an occasional stroll for food after their visit to the zoo. The concept of Alice in Wonderland will appeal to kids because of the bright colours, huge Alice inside the building, and the mirror surface fixed on the external walls that play with imagination. Alice would appeal to adults as well because of its graphics and smart design.
The structure of Alice is made of translucent metal with a shiny surface, what was inspired by art installations at Burning Man.
Floor is on the roof, ceiling is on the floor. Hence the cloud material floor finish on the ground floor, and the chess tile pattern with real furniture hanging from the ceiling. "Sometimes I think of 6 impossible things and thats before breakfast".
